BEC Medical and University Medicine Mannheim (UMM) are advancing the future of robot-assisted CT interventions. Their joint research project, “guidoo CT,” is supported by the Health + Life Science Alliance Heidelberg Mannheim with funding of up to €200,000.
With guidoo, BEC Medical is developing a robotic assistance system designed for precise and reproducible needle positioning in image-guided, minimally invasive procedures. Originally developed for cone-beam CT (CBCT), the technology will now be adapted for conventional spiral CT systems.
Together with UMM, BEC Medical will further develop and clinically evaluate the technology, combining expertise in medical robotics with clinical experience in interventional radiology.
The shared goal: To expand access to robotic assistance in clinical applications and help shape the future of minimally invasive medicine.
